imo. u can just double eli all the way. 5th and 6th position can still be obtained that way.

Hi all, we do not want double elimination all the way because alot of people feel that it is unfair for those who lose in the first few rounds. Based on past experience, those who lose in the first round played almost double the number of times as those that win all the way. This mix of formats will also reduce total time as compared to double elimination.

Hi, how about "it's time to use a swiss system".

How about limiting the number of participating teams and play Swiss instead? Team tourney, if 3-way tie at the top, its gonna be a pain.

Swiss system actually is quite time consuming considering the limited space available. This mix of formats would reduce time considerably. Regarding the round robbin, will look at win at the group level followed by the number of players within the team that win if all 3 teams win once each. For example, if 2 teams win by 2-1 and 1 win by 3-0, the team that win 3-0 will be first, and the team that lost 3-0 will be 3rd. If there is a tie of 2-1 (or 3-0) for all 3, then maybe there is no choice but to compete again.

Maybe format-wise, there may be changes. Will update here if there are any changes.

Wasn't that what the whole Max thing was all about?

May be fairer albeit more time consuming if it wasn't subject to being random and they were allowed the option to play for their Top 4 spot.

EDIT: Not trying to discredit/flame the format in any way. Just noting that a recognised format (such as swiss) should be used in order to prevent people from finding fault with it. Merely citing that the Max incident was an example of how people can pick on pretty much anything, and scenarios like that should be avoided as much as possible.

Cheers, and good luck to all players and TO involved.

Hi all, as 1 or 2 groups suddenly back out at the last minute due to personal reasons, there are now spaces available. If anyone is still interested, please inform the organiser. Thanks!
