Weee, anybody care to share cool events that happened?

What does everyone think about 1 of the judges winning a lucky draw prize? Discuss. Personally i see 3 things wrong with it totally

1. A judge participating in giving feedback for a tournament which he was involved in. (E.g. My boss ask me if i think a good job? Obviously yes right? Duh)

2. A judge particpated in a lucky draw, which participants only got the survey form after we had registered and paid $10 for, obviously cool stuff

3. Obviously, just winning is a crime in itself.....

I wont comment much on the other areas of the tournament, since I had no real major issues, or at least in my opinion. But this really takes the cake siah... bounce

Minor event: During finals, no crowd control, friend of our champion can just go up to him and whisper in the ear, while a judge sitting right next to him? They said that it was just asking what you wanna eat for dinner, that one abit wrong in itself, but still.... Not major incident i guess but.. How did something like that happen??? People crowding around is usual, cant be stopped, but can just directly whisper to players?? Very bad crowd control...

Note: Nothing against the champion, i know him myself, but still the above event is really not very... right.... Rolling Eyes

I think normally for lucky draw, there is a clause stating that organisers cannot join. (Judge considered organiser?) Anyway, if no such clause was stated I guess nobody can argue much about it.

I'm surprise top 3 is all BF unlike Japan Nats where there were 3 AKBs in top 4. No DT synchros like Natural Beast a factor?

heard the plant guy in top 8 was having a winning streak til he got DQed by a judge, anybody can shed some light as to what happened? It seems such a waste that a plant deck can stand up against so many bf deck and get DQed halfway.

He got 3 fouls which resulted in a game loss.

1) He came late
2) answering a call in the middle of a game
3) summoning 2 amarilis from the graveyard at the end phase without placing it in a chain block even though no one really cares whether u do it in a chain block or not.

Sadly as I think dat the plant deck was awesome and he might have won the tourney. Its was an interesting deck though =) I think dat the main cause for bf winning the tourney because they is simply too many BF players and the AKB deck players just ran out of luck dats wad I think....

From what I heard from my friend, one of the Judges got issues with Hong Li, who according to him, took very long to think.

Alot of people came late for their rounds too...including me. Don't see why didn't get DQed. Had a lot of problems regarding to when my round started. I would suggest you take their phone numbers at registration to ensure you can contact them to come and play their round. And the chain block thing is plain stupid, since almost no one ever says they're doing it in a chain block. They just do, and the opponent is supposed to have some common sense..

1. there is no proper time of every round announced.
2. like what is mentioned above, someone (i don't wanna mention name) whispered to my opponent in final with the judge just sat beside him. i looked at the judge, and i pointed at the person. the judge said is fine. (although i doubt what was whispered affect the match)
3. technically, it can be fouled. but i'm sure there're many other things you can pick on if you want to.

The guy using the plant deck is my friend. He got so sad over being disqualified instead of losing and decided to give his plant deck a name call "DQPlant".

My friend was very unhappy with the third foul. The judge said that he had given my friend chances to correct the mistake of not using the chain block. However, no warning was given to him at all. Furthermore, that was the first time he summoned two amarilis from the graveyard for that match. He only just discarded the 2 amarilis into the graveyard with Brionac's effect in the same turn he got disqualified. So.. what kind of chance did the judge give when he did not issue any warning that chain block must not be skipped for that?

The judge said he saw my friend execute the same move that way many times and gave my friend chances to correct it, but he (the judge) NEVER WARN him not to skip the chain block at all and he was disqualified the first time the judge stopped him from special summoning 2 amarilis back. So how did my friend took it for granted when he has not been warned at all and don't know that he is not suppose to execute that move that way to save time. It is common sense to do that to save time. Furthermore, does it make any different if the first or second amarilis summoned to empty field was stopped (by bottomless trap hole, tidal wave, divine wrath etc)? The result would be the same right? If he special summoned the two amarilis one by one, he might otherwise be disqualified by being accused of stalling time, wasting time on simple move and slowing down the duel.

Actually there is... D.D Crow... By the way, i rmb Ben got some set cards on the field isn't it? But the judge nv gave warning and fouled him is abit... By the way, that day i heard ppl say he use broniac effect which is discard X numbers of card... and judge ask him to respect his opponent by throwing it one by one...

er... i don't understand that part on brionac, the one you said about throwing one by one. i thought the effect is:

according to yugioh.wikia.com
You can discard any number of cards to return from the field to the owner's hand the same number of cards you discarded.

so as a cost for bouncing cards back to owner's hand, should be 1 shot discard the number of cards you wish to bounce right? what does it mean by throwing one by one?

My throwing one by one meant discarding one by one... That person tried to discard 3 at a go but it seems that the judge stop him and ask him to RESPECT his opponent and discard it one by one... Quite a strange "order" from judge o.0...

A lot of things can be penalized if you really want to do so.

Like how people never shake opponent's hand at the srat of every duel, when rulebook got say.
Like how people never count their sidedeck in front of their opponent before and after siding.

And a lot of 'taken for granted stuff' from the rulebook. In this regard, the chain block thing should also be overlooked. As for Brionac, the card states throw all at one shot, if you want to throw 1 by 1, it's actually as if you're using the effects at different instances, which is different from what the player initially wanted to do. Then it would actually be the judge being penalized because he affected the player's decision. But of course, we are all humans, and we have the common sense to know what he meant was selecting target 1 by 1. So yeah, a bit unfair to those who got DQed loh.

But my question is, what is me behind my labels and my masks?
What is the real me?

1st the judge did not warn the player wat he he done, intead quietly he observe ( WTF like this i can oso accuse or say other ppl fault by OBSERVING rather than telling him , any other ppl can oso do this and tell on tales if tats the case)

2nd wat is respect? if u really respect yr opponent, u will be be a nuisance as to " main phase, any thing to chain? standby, do u wanna activate card?
im proceeding to blah blah, anyting?" wif differnt views, ppl will see it differently, some tinks that u are irritating, other ppl will see this need to do so as to avoid any " i wanted to chain / activate card but u didnt ask me"
And regarding the brionac effect, i have to agree if Axe boy here.
U follow the rule and text of the card by discarding 3 at a goal, if u discard one by 1, u will be playing the effect 3!!!! fuking times!!! instead of once.
But if u show wat u discard IN A GOAL and the cards u discarded, it would b fairer to both player, including judge.

3rd which i agreed wif baha that the judges REALLY have alot of FUKING power

1. there is no proper time of every round announced.
2. like what is mentioned above, someone (i don't wanna mention name) whispered to my opponent in final with the judge just sat beside him. i looked at the judge, and i pointed at the person. the judge said is fine. (although i doubt what was whispered affect the match)
u are all playing in their territory, wat can u do? complain? hu CARES abt u?
when u complain, they blacklist u! they have CONTROL!
ITS all alrdy expected when the tourny even started.

MOV has again made a GOOD reputation and made themselves " highly RESPECTED "

GOOD job.

My guess is this is going to be the start of a vicious cycle.
No doubt, there are things which can be improved on their part. But you guys starting this discussion in such heated tone will not change anything.
The cycle goes, they read this, they will boil, then they will want to get back at you guys. Then if they do, your will complain again, and it loops.
Give them credits for what they do well, and offer constructive criticism for what they did not. Instead of just complaining what they do wrong, offer them a solution?
I'm not saying I'm not affected by their style of tournament organisation, I was affected during my top 16 match. But the fact is there are no other group which is able to take up their mantle to be Tournament organiser for the official events.
I'm just asking everyone, to cool down, take a few mins off before you do post anything that comes across your mind as you read this.
Nobody listens to heated complains, maybe somebody will listens to constructive criticism.
End of the day, if after you read this, and you decide to flame me altogether, then I also have nothing else to say already.
